Monthly clicks by AI Overview Situation
Being cited in the AI Overview recovers about 50% of the clicks lost when an Overview is present but you are not cited (552 of 1,104 monthly clicks at this position).
How the estimate works
Baseline CTR comes from the shared organic position table. When an AI Overview is present, a CTR Reduction is applied — about 40% when you are not cited and 20% when you are cited (suite Brief Defaults, editable). Study bounds from Ahrefs and Seer appear beside those defaults so you can see where research disagrees.
What “cited” means here
Cited means your domain appears as a source in that Google AI Overview — not a citation inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to run this calculator?
No. On-screen results are free and public. Enter an email only if you want to download the comparison report.
Why only three AI Overview Situations?
The brief’s fourth “cited as top source” figure has no study behind it and contradicts published cited-vs-no-AIO bounds, so this tool compares none, present+uncited, and present+cited only.
What if my Organic Position is past 20?
Positions outside 1–20 cannot be computed from the shared table. The calculator shows no answer rather than a misleading zero.
